Eliza Montague Smith is a writer based in Columbus, Ohio. Her essays have appeared or are forthcoming in The Offing, Essay Daily, Indiana Review, The Pinch, Redivider, and CutBank and have been awarded the Penelope Niven Award and Pinch Literary Award. She has an MA in magazine writing from the Missouri School of Journalism and an MFA in creative nonfiction from Ohio State. She’s currently working on Pretty Houses, a book of essays about womanhood, loss, and power told through four generations of her matrilineal line.
